August 25, 2020
Dear parents and students,
As we have said since last March, this is an unprecedented time. We apologize for this letter coming later than normal. The circumstances are constantly changing thus the contents of this letter have changed. School is now upon us. Here are some important upcoming events for your calendar:
Pre-registration will be held on September 1st & 2nd. Students will get their school pictures taken as well as receive a copy of their schedule and locker assignments. Picture information is included with this letter. All students need to get pictures taken (this includes all seniors and those students that are not buying a package) for our school database.
Students should report at the following times:
Seniors – Monday, August 31st, 9:00am – 12:00pm
Freshmen – Monday, August 31st, 1:00pm – 3:00pm
Juniors – Tuesday, September 1st, 9:00am – 12:00pm
Sophomores – Tuesday, September 1st, 12:30pm – 3:00pm
***All students whether they are choosing Face to Face or Spartan Connected Learn From Home must come get their schedule and their picture taken. Spartan Connected students will receive other necessary forms pertaining to online learning. These forms must be taken home to be filled out and signed by students and parents. Students and/or parents of Spartan Connected then must return their signed forms to MCC High School on Thursday, September 3rd from 9:00am-3:00pm. Then, Chromebooks will be issued.
Schedules can and will be picked up outside the front door of the high school. Pictures will take place in the high school cafeteria. Students must wear a mask in the building until they are in the chair to actually have their picture taken. We also will limit how many students will be allowed in the cafeteria at one time.
Incoming freshmen students/parents:
The normal freshman parent night and freshman orientation will not take place. Instead, we will have a video presentation for you available through the MCC app and our Twitter feed @MCCSpartans1 by Friday, August 28th at 3:00pm.
First Day of School: Tuesday, September 8th is the first day of school. School starts at 8:25am. Upon arrival, students should go directly to their advisory classroom that is on their schedule. Do not linger in the hallway as we must practice proper social distancing. Staff will be in the hall to help new students and freshmen find their advisory. The first day is also a ½-day of school with dismissal at 11:30am. Students will have a bag lunch available if they would like one.
