MCC Family,

Fall is here after some unseasonably warm temperatures in late September.  That is ok because it makes it feel like its time for spirit week and homecoming.  That exactly what this week is.  We celebrate our alumni and our Spartan Spirit  this week for spirit week and homecoming.  This newsletter serves as a guide to spirit week and more for this month.

Our homecoming theme is: Spartan Country:  Where Dreams Come True. All classes have decorated the hallways and we are ready fore dress-up days, our annual tractor parade, class competitions and parade.  Friday night we will be playing the Shelby Tigers at our homecoming football game and our King and Queen will be crowned at halftime.  We will culminate our homecoming celebration with the dance on Saturday night from 8pm-11pm in the cafeteria.  One slight change to this year’s parade is that we will begin at 5pm.  This is an earlier start due to our varsity football team participating in the parade this year.  Please line the streets of downtown Scottville and Beryl Street to pump our team up and see all of MCC’s parade participants!

We are preparing for the PSAT test which will take place on Wednesday, October 18th.  This year the SAT and the PSAT will be going digital and will be taken on Chromebooks rather than paper and pencil.  We will be holding a digital self-test on Monday of this week during 3rd hour.  This self-test is to check for technology glitches and prepare students for what the test looks like before the actual test day.  Please make sure that your school-issued Chromebooks are fully charged every day.

Thank you to all parent volunteers and helpers in all things for MCC and our students.  We always need help with our operations from helping build the set for the play to athletic event volunteers, to band and sports boosters.  In order to be a vibrant school we need your help.  Thanks to parents who currently help and please inquire with us how you can pitch in for the good of MCC and all of our Spartans.
