MCC Family,
It’s hard to believe how fast the 2025-2026 school year has gone. In just a couple of weeks, we will send the class of 2026 on to higher education, the workforce, trade school, or the armed forces. Graduation season is very special at Mason County Central. Our seniors each year earn scholarships and awards. We will honor them for completing this educational stage of their life journey and wish them well after they leave Mason County Central for their future endeavors.
On Tuesday, the annual Student Council Awards will be held beginning at 9:00 am in the main High School Gymnasium. All parents and community members are welcome! The final award of this highly-regarded ceremony will be the Outstanding Senior. Please consider attending.
The class of 2026's last day of class is Wednesday of this week. Friday, May 22nd, is when all of our seniors experience culminates. We begin on Friday with a senior breakfast at 8:30 am and move to the main gym for our commencement practice. We will then move on to the senior walk-through of our four school buildings. The graduation commencement ceremony will begin at 7:00 pm as we honor the Class of 2026. Please consider attending for this fine group of young people.
All underclassmen will be in session until our final day of school on Friday, June 5th. June 5th is a ½ day of school with dismissal at 11:30 am. Final exams will be given on Thursday and Friday of the final week. An exam schedule will be posted to the MCC App and our social media on Monday of the last week of school.
Did you know?
We had a great week for Teacher Appreciation Week at the high school. Traditional lunch and breakfast options were given to the staff along with some random gift card drawings. The teachers also had dress-up days, and Mr. Tuka read the morning announcements in current teenage slang. We had a great week!
Spring sports are coming to a close with the school year ending. Baseball and softball districts are on May 30th. Track regionals took place on May 16th. The golf regional is the week of May 25th. Good luck to all Spartan teams.
Both boys and girls track teams finished second in the Rivers Division conference meet, and MCC was the host site. Both Coach Nelson and Coach Boone were pleased with the performance.
Our final Spartans of the Month and Staff of the Month were:
Freshman- Ali VanHoven
Sophomore- Adria Bruursema
Junior- Madelyn Sterley
Senior- Elizabeth Horacek
Staff- Mr. Stibitz
We still have three weeks to go in this school year, and we will finish strong!
Jeffrey A. Tuka, Principal
