MCC Upper Elementary - Our Actions Will Inspire and Equip Students to Excel

Starting Monday, March 23 through Thursday, March 26; our PE teacher, Mr. Anes, will be taking our students and their homeroom teachers bowling at Stix in Ludington! Please make sure your students are dressed appropriately; socks are a must and easy on/off shoes would be best!
Buses will be leaving the school at 8:45 and returning to school at 11:15.
3/23 Monday: Briske, Trombley, and Stibitz
3/24 Tuesday: Millspaugh, Bishop, and Chalko
3/25 Wednesday: Shorts, Mathews, and Janowiak
3/26 Thursday: Pomorski and Kessel
There will be a permission slip going home in the coming days. Only sign and send back with your student if you DO NOT want your student attending this field trip on their given day.
*There is no need for parents or chaperones to attend. Only students will be allowed to bowl during this time.

Just for clarification. We will be transporting students home that normally ride the bus at 11:20 from Scottville Elementary and 11:30 from the High School, Middle School and Upper Elementary

Dear MCC School Family,

This morning we lost power or partial power at 3 of our 4 buildings. We were able to provide breakfast for them this morning and are working on preparing lunches to be ready for 11:00 this morning.

Unfortunately we will then need to send our students home after lunch. Our Pick up at Scottville Elementary is scheduled for 11:20 and the main campus at 11:30. \

Parents and Guardians, please make arrangements for a safe and orderly end of school day. Thank you for your understanding as we pivot due to unfortunate circumstances.

Mason County Recreation Youth Baseball, Softball, and T-ball registration is OPEN! Please scan the QR code and/or visit the website www.masoncountyrec.org. This year we have created an actual website where the registration, volunteer and sponsorship forms can be found. There will also be more information added here as we get teams built, schedules built and locations of fields. Contact information will be available on this website as well. Registation is due by April 11; fees are $40 per child for T-Ball and $50 per child for Baseball and Softball.

Mason County 4-H will be hosting 2 clubs that run the week of Spring Break at WSCC. Youth attending both are welcome to stay with us for lunch.
-Backpack to Adventure in the Islands; Monday-Friday, March 30-April 3; 10:00-12:00; Ages 9+; $10 fee
-Intro to Textiles and Machine Sewing; Monday -Friday, March 30-April 3; 12:30-2:30; Ages 10+; $10 fee

We would like to send out congratulations to Mykah Oles and Jude Beemer, both 5th graders, whose art has been selected to advance from the Region 13 Art Show to the MAEA State Art Show. Mykah's work was chosen in the Top 100 category; and Jude's work was chosen in the Michigan Department of Education category. Their award winning art will be displayed at the Hickman Gallery on Adrian College's campus. Congratulations again!!!

Dear Families, We have noticed that a stomach bug seems to be making its way around our school. While this is common during this time of year, we wanted to share a few simple steps that can help reduce the spread at home and keep our students feeling their best. A few helpful reminders: • Encourage frequent handwashing with soap and water, especially before eating and after using the restroom. • Wipe down commonly touched surfaces at home such as door handles, light switches, and devices. • Wash coats, backpacks, lunchboxes, and reusable water bottles regularly. • Make sure children get plenty of rest and fluids if they are not feeling well. • If your child is experiencing vomiting or other stomach illness symptoms, please keep them home until they are symptom-free for 24 hours. Thank you for helping us keep our school community healthy. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
