Attention Families: Please join us for a Virtual Family Tech Talk The last year has challenged us to rethink how we live, work, interact, and view the world. It has become a delicate balancing act between keeping our kids and families safe from a pandemic, coming to terms with more screen time, and managing the transformation of our homes into offices, classrooms and more. Join us for a conversation about the opportunities and challenges our families and kids’ have experienced with technology due to COVID-19. From TikTok to Zoom to Roblox, hear some best practices on how to help your kids use the internet in safe and healthy ways. These include tech tips as well as guidelines and exercises you can use with your kids. There will be ample opportunity to raise your concerns and ask questions, too! We have an excellent opportunity for parents coming up on May 10th… Texting, gaming, Roblox, Minecraft, TikTok, YouTube. Technology is changing fast, and many of us are struggling to stay one step ahead of our kids and learn everything we can about being online. (Not an easy task when most of them know more about it than we do!) Join us for a virtual Family Tech Talk presentation with an Internet safety expert from Trend Micro, who will share the latest trends, give advice on how to help your child use the Internet responsibly, and answer parent questions in a Q&A session. The presentation will discuss what our children are doing online—and how to teach them to be smart, safe, and respectful digital citizens. They’ll also cover privacy and security issues, how to encourage responsible Internet use, and even more. A May 2022 Bond Election Community Forum is scheduled for Tuesday, March 15th from 6:00 to 7:30 pm in the A.O. Carlson Gym. Please join Mason County Central district leaders to learn about the upcoming Bond Election. We will share detailed information about the proposed projects, tax impacts for our property owners and answer specific questions about the bond request.
