Dear MCC School Family, When you get a chance, please check out a letter from the Regional Superintendents posted in the News Feed on this App or the district Website[ www.mccschools.org ]. The letter is in regards to all of us staying extra vigilant in our efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19 and other illnesses as we enter the Flu season. We so want to keep our schools open and continue to provide extracurricular activities through this school year. Just so you know, our students and staff have been wonderful in their efforts here at school to learn and teach in a safe and healthy manner. Stay Healthy and Strong Spartans!!
Mason County District Library is thrilled to announce Unbound is available for the 2020-2021 school year. Unbound is a collaborative program which delivers books from the public library to the desks of MCC students. This increases the number of titles available to young readers and creates excitement and a love of reading. In 2019, 4697 books were checked out to MCC students saving the school district over $56,000 in material cost. The student's enthusiasm for this program has been amazing! You might receive a call saying an item is available for pick up at the library, but don't worry it will be delivered to them at school! This is your opportunity to ask them about what they're reading. The goal of this program is to create a culture of literacy and increase literacy rates in our community. For further questions please check out http://www.masoncounty.lib.mi.us/unbound-at-mason-county-district-library/ or contact Patti Skinner at Mason County District Library - Scottville Branch 757-2588 or email@example.com.

o the Parents and families of athletes at Mason County Central Schools: The West Michigan Conference (WMC) is happy to announce that Governor Whitmer and the MHSAA has modified the limits on spectator attendance to our athletic events. The shift in policy, which goes into effect on Tuesday, October 6th, now uses an indoor or outdoor venue's fixed seating capacity to determine the number of spectators allowed to an event. Due to the capacities of the WMC middle school gyms, there will be no change to the present policy of 2 tickets per family for middle school basketball. The new policy, however, will affect high school football, volleyball, and middle school football for the remaining regular season WMC contests. The WMC has prioritized the additional available tickets first be made available to the middle and high school families of our athletes. These tickets will be distributed to your student-athletes beginning on Monday October 5th AT NO CHARGE. Any leftover will be made available to the staff and student body, with priority to students in the senior class. ALL SOCIAL DISTANCING MEASURES ARE STILL IN PLACE, WHICH INCLUDES SPECTATORS WEARING FACE COVERINGS AT BOTH INDOOR AND OUTDOOR EVENTS.

This week we received new guidance from the Governor’s office (Executive Order 183) and the MHSAA regarding the increased spectators allowed at athletic events. We are excited to share details with everyone – but want to do so when we have the facts straight. PLEASE show patience as we navigate all the guidance, changes, and protocols for safety and care. Meetings to gain clarity are taking place in the West Michigan Conference and across the state today to work through these new guidelines. As we gain a clear picture of details we will pass those along to our student-athletes, parents, and faithful fans! In the meantime, please be patient and - GO SPARTANS!
If you have interest in your child participating in West Shore Wolves Youth Hockey, there is sign up and contact information in the News Feed of this App and the MCC District Website.
Spartan fans, We would like to thank the bulk of parents and spectators that are following the masking mandate while attending athletic contests. As we see more and more schools shutting down for Covid-19 issues, we must be more diligent than ever in doing our part. Please know that those that choose to NOT to wear a mask while attending will be jeopardizing the continuation of that contest. The West Michigan Conference is dedicated to following the rules that have been put forth by the MHSAA and the governor's office to allow interscholastic sports to be played. Contests WILL BE suspended until all spectators MASK UP! Let's all do our part!
Spartan Connect Parents and Students the Newsfeed will have an update loading at 5:20 pm tonight, regarding testing updates and face to face communications.
