Here is a message from our PTC:
Welcome back, MCC Family! We’re happy to report that the Parent-Teacher Committee (PTC) is still alive and well, despite the craziness of the last couple years. We’ve shifted gears during Covid, doing our monthly meetings on Zoom, and focused on creative new projects like last year’s Spartan apparel sale among other things to continue supporting MCC, our great staff and administrators, and the wonderful kiddos. We can’t wait to put on big events like the Color Run again though- sooner or later!
The PTC is in need of new members! We’ve got several very dedicated and talented officers right now, but it does take a village- if you’re passionate about MCC and the kiddos, drop in to a meeting or reach out to us on Facebook! It’s a good group and a great opportunity to get involved and give back.

Tomorrow, December 17th is the final day that the Upper Elementary will be taking donations for their grade level's Christmas Donation Drive. The 3rd graders are collecting for the Scottville Area Senior Center. Our 4th graders have been collecting for Mason County Animal Shelter. And the 5th graders have been taking donations for COVE in Ludington.
Just a reminder to parents that tomorrow, Friday December 17th will be our last day of school as we head into Christmas Break. School will resume on Monday, January 3rd. We hope you have a safe and happy holiday. Merry Christmas from all of us here at Mason County Central Schools.

District Health Department #10, Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital, and the City of Ludington are hosting a 3 times a week drive up COVID-19 Drive-Through Testing Clinic starting December 14th, 2021. Dear MCC School Family,
At the end of the day today, Thursday, December 9th, Middle School Staff and Administration were made aware of a rumored threat from an MCC Middle School Student. The Scottville Police Department was notified immediately to help us determine if the rumor was true and a threat could be verified. The student in question, along with his parents were paid a visit at home by Chief Murphy of the Scottville PD. From the investigation/threat assessment, it was determined that the rumor was NOT credible and was started by another student or students entirely.
Let me make this perfectly clear... there is NOT a threat toward the school as rumored. It is unfortunate that we now have to deal with the student(s) that is/are the source of the rumor and said student(s) could face severe consequences at school and possibly within the courts as such a hurtful and untrue rumor can completely disrupt a school system, cause deep community concern, heightened anxiety and a waste of public safety/ school resources.
Parents, please have a conversation with your children about how words can have serious consequences and never is there a time to even joke about something as serious as a school shooting.
And Students, we thank you for sharing what you heard at school or on the bus this afternoon so we could be sure to track any threat or rumor down and assure our schools remain a safe place to learn and grow.
As we often say: If you see or hear something that could hurt you or others... PLEASE TELL US.
Thank you Chief Murphy for running down every lead to get to the bottom of this unfortunate and completely avoidable situation.

Don’t forget that Santa Clause is coming to Downtown Scottville tomorrow Saturday December 4th. Parade starts at 6pm with crafts, bonfire & s’mores, and pictures with Santa to follow.

Here is the Upper Elementary December Newsletter! We would like to congratulate the November Students of the Month: Easton Overmyer, Byrnn Publiski, and Ethan Austin. Some dates to keep in mind: Report cards go home 12/10, and last day of school is 12/17 before Holiday Break, we return 1/3! Have a GREAT day in Spartan Country.
