FYI
MCC English Department attended the Michigan Reading Association conference in Grand Rapids. Mrs. Gerhart and Ms. Moore presented their stories and successes of our Silent Sustained Reading (SSR) program. They taught other educators about the importance of daily reading, reading fluency, and reading stamina. Many people left the presentation ready to bring this SSR data to their own districts and implement SSR there. MCC teachers are doing great things across the state!

🚀🤖 Exciting scenes in Mrs. Quinteros's Spanish class at Mason County Central today! With the support of a grant from Great Lakes Energy, our students merged tech skills with Spanish by programming GoPiGo robots. They mastered commands like "mover adelante" (move forward) and "girar a la derecha" (turn right), and explored basic 'while loops' for smart obstacle avoidance. What a fantastic way to develop both coding and language skills! #CodingInSpanish #FutureReady #MCCPride #GreatLakesEnergy
