To kick off the new school year and new 4-H year, Mason County 4-H is hosting a virtual scavenger hunt for kids in the county with a “back to school” theme. The event is open to both 4-H and non 4-H youth and will challenge them to complete missions that will help them get to know their school and the staff. Using a simple smart device and the GooseChase virtual scavenger hunt app, participants will be able to complete missions and earn points towards some cool 4-H back to school swag.
A Flyer can be found in the Document section on the Middle School Web page. Registration is now open and the scavenger hunt is set to run from September 27th thru October 11th.
If your child takes medication at school during the day, you must complete the green medication permission form that can be found in your child's packet or in the Middle School office. If it is a prescribed medication, the form MUST be signed by a physician and turned into the office by the PARENT, with the medication in its original container. If your child needs to take any over the counter medication (Tylenol, cough drops, etc), you will also need to fill out the form and drop off the medication in the office. Over the counter medications do not require a physician's signature. We cannot accept permission over the phone to give your child any medication and cannot provide medication for them. If you have any questions please call the MS office at 231-757-3724.
Reminder that Back to School Night is August 30th. At 5:30 will be handing out schedules and computers to 6th grade students. At 6 parents will have a quick meeting with the Principal and 6th grade students will get to tour the school and meet their teachers.
New 7th and 8th grade students may meet their teachers and tour the school starting at 6:30. 7th and 8th grade student schedules will be emailed to the parent email provided.
Last Note: We are requesting that all water bottles this year be clear and have screw on tops vs the squeezable kind.

Middle School Back to School Night has been moved to August 30th at 6 pm at the Middle School. This event is for 6th graders only. Schedules will be handed out for 6th graders, and they will get to meet their teachers and work on their assigned lockers. 7th and 8th grade schedules will be emailed. New 7th and 8th grade students may attend back to school night arriving at 6:30 to meet and tour. 6th Grade parents there will be a short information gathering session from 6-6:30 with the Principal. Back to school supply lists are separated by grade level this year. Please be sure you are using the correct grade level list and get separate supplies for those listed underneath specific subjects. Most students will have both Art and P.E. at least once each year.

Reminder to student/athletes and their parents: In order to begin practice you MUST have a physical dated April 15, 2021 or after on file with the office, uploaded to Final Forms, or given to your coach. Practice for the high school begins the week of August 9th and middle school will begin the week of August 23rd.
Don't miss out. The BACK TO SCHOOL BACKPACK BONANZA will take place on Wednesday, August 11th from 4pm - 7pm. Transportation from the MCC High School Parking Lot will be available.

This year we are offering in-person and virtual race options
for 2 river races and 2 triathalons:
• River race #1 will start in Custer and end at Riverside Park in Scottville.
• River race #2 will start at Riverside Park and end in Ludington.
• The Individual Triathalon
• Team Triathalon
Each triathalon will consist of a 12 mile bike race, 4 mile run, and
paddle from the Custer boat launch to Riverside Park in Scottville.
