MCC Upper Elementary - Our Actions Will Inspire and Equip Students to Excel

Thank you!!!! We would like to send out a huge thank you to our PTC, local fire departments and law enforcement, teachers, volunteers, parents and students for a great night of fun on Friday at our walk/run for fun. Our annual fun color run was a huge success and we couldn’t have done it without you! Thank you!!!

Here is the September newletter from the Upper Elementary! We would like to send our congradulations to Kole Marcus, Grace Handshoe, and Blake Spyker who were nominated and selected as grade level Students' of the Month. Just a few reminders: Picture day is Oct 17, conferences will be Oct 24 and 26, and we will once again have Halloween parties and PARADE (more coming home soon). Mason County Central’s Homecoming is next week! We wanted to let our families know the Upper Elementary will be participating in SPIRIT WEEK this year!!! The Flyer below lists our dress-up days! As always, have a great day in Spartan Country!!!

TOMORROW! The forecast looks great, the prizes are in, the powder is colorful, and the volunteers are ready- we'll see y'all TOMORROW 9/29 for the Color Run! Don't miss it, registration at 6pm at the High School.

September 29th will be our 16th Annual Walk/Run 4 Fun! Registration will start at 6:00 pm at just outside the High School. The FunRun will start around 6:30 and end around 7:30 pm. Pledge level prizes; cooler, umbrella, drawstring bag, and t-shirts; will be handed out and a drawing at the end for lots of prizes including a HOVERBOARD! This is our PTC’s main fundraiser for many fun things; such as field trips, positive classroom rewards, and playground equipment and maintenance! We appreciate your contribution and participation! Your efforts provide great opportunities for our children! Have a great day in Spartan Country!

Our Annual PTC Color Run is coming up fast! Join us for this fun-filled event next Friday, September 29th at the High School. Registration begins at 6:00 and event will be held from 6:30 - 7:30. Every dollar pledged goes to our PTC and provides things such as playground equipment, technology for the classrooms, covers costs of field trips and other learning experiences for our students. The children have been getting very excited about the great MCC gear and other prizes they can earn by participating. Here are a few examples along with more information about the event. (The t-shirt shown is from last year, we have a new one for this year). We look forward to seeing everyone that evening!!!

We are looking for 5th and 6th boys interested in participating in a local travel basketball team. This is our third year having a combined 5th/6th grade team. We have seen significant skill development in the boys that played in both this league and a winter league the past two years. Thanks to those that have already registered! Registration will be open through Sunday October 1st. Register here: https://forms.gle/wDXXc5KQVeRD8dCo7 Games will be on Saturdays in November and December. Likely game locations will include MCC, Ludington, Hart, Shelby, Manistee, and Hesperia. Depending on the number of players, there will be a $30 to $50 fee per player to cover the cost of MHSAA Registered Officials. Note – This does not replace the traditional boys’ Rec basketball league. Players interested in playing in the Rec league will still be able to participate this Winter.
