Dear MCC Scottville Elementary Parents- On April 8, portions of Eastern US and possible other areas will be along the path of a solar eclipse or have other solar eclipse experiences. This will be an experience that is supposed to occur during our regular school day afternoon and possible dismissal times. There will be some changes to the our end of day. Our Students will board the bus with their glasses on. While this is a rare and exciting phenomenon, it presents a risk of eye injury to everyone, especially children who may not understand the dangers of looking directly in the direction of the sun. Eclipse viewing glasses will be provided to students in Prek-8th grades at Mason County Central Schools. With the proper precautions, we know that the wonder of an eclipse will be a source of great inspiration and knowledge for our students for years to come.
Kindergarten Round-Up is tomorrow night. If you have a child who is or will be 5 on or before September 1st, 2024 we would love to meet you! Kindergarten Round-Up will be held on Wednesday April 3rd, 2024 at Scottville Elementary from 5:30-6:30pm. West Shore Community College is pleased to offer Kids Summer Camps from June 10-August 15 for ages 4-9 and 9-15. The dates for "round-up" are April 15 and 17, both days 4:30 to 7:00, at Mason County Central High School Cafeteria. Registration fees are $50.00 for all leagues, that includes a t-shirt. Mason County Central Schools and Victory Early Childhood Center would like to remind parents that tomorrow Thursday March 21st will be our last day of school as we head into spring break. Spring Break is right around the corner. Not going anywhere this year? Head on over to the library for a week filled with visiting other countries. Children will receive a passport and get stamps for each country they travel to throughout the week. We will have food, crafts, and a video of each of the five countries (see flyer for details). Calling all K-4 families.... We are so excited to announce that Scottville Elementary’s KickStart to Career Deposit Day is coming up on April 25! Watch for deposit day envelopes and a reminder to come home the week before. Also, around the first week of April, you will receive a KickStart to Career statement with your child’s account balance. Please be sure to check your child’s backpack! We thought it was important to get this information to you before the first deposit day of the year. At the end of February we had Ms Becah and Ms Julia come in to teach our students about dental hygiene as part of dental hygiene month. All of our students had such a good time with this and we want to say Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to Ms Becah and Ms Julia for taking time out of you busy schedules to teach our littles about taking care of our teeth!!!
