Good evening, Mason County Central Families,

Late this afternoon, two buses in our fleet incurred mechanical problems on the afternoon route. We cannot speculate on the origin of these issues, but we are not ruling out any possibilities at this time, and we have contacted law enforcement.

The MCC Transportation Department and mechanics have looked over all buses in our fleet and can assure a safe ride to school tomorrow. We apologize for any inconvenience that this has caused to our families. We are working with ALL to ensure that our fleet is ready for the morning route on Friday.

Again, we apologize for this inconvenience, and we make safety our number one priority. We will continue to investigate this problem.

As our first week of school approaches, we have some street closures due to paving that must happen in the City of Scottville. Gay St., which is directly west of Scottville Elementary, and Reinberg Ave. between US 10 and Broadway Ave. will be closed for the first week of school. If you normally travel on these streets, please give yourself extra time to get to our school building and arrive for afternoon pickup as well.

From kindergarten to high school we welcomed our seven new teachers to the Central Family at new teacher orientation this morning. Make sure you introduce yourself and welcome them at the start of the school year!

Great trip to Two Rivers, Wisconsin! Both teams had their best finish at the meet since we started competing across Lake Michigan. Boys were 7th of 16 and the Girls were 8th of 16. We were once again the smallest school competing. Merrick Tacktor finished 3rd overall becoming our highest finisher at this meet, and Jackson Poll finished 13th overall and became our first male medalist in Two Rivers. Many new PR’s were set on both teams. It was another great and fun trip! Thanks to all the parents and faculty members who were present on the departure and arrival of the Badger! That was really cool and it meant a lot to teams!

Central wins the season opener vs. Lakeview 41-12. Coach Smith and his staff gather the players after the victory. Central travels to Shelby next Thursday.

Mason County Central welcomes Cody Jensen back home! Cody is a 2014 graduate of MCC and is our new Director of State and Federal Programs.
