Sports Updates The Wrestling meet this week is that was scheduled for Tuesday 3/16 has been switched to Wednesday 3/17 @ Shelby with a start time of 4 PM The Volleyball game scheduled for Tuesday 3/16 will be just for the 8th grade team. This game will start at 4 PM @ Montague. The 7th grade team will not travel to this game.

The Book Fair is coming 3/15-3/19! https://www.scholastic.com/bf/mccms Students will be allowed to shop the Book Fair in person following guidelines put in place for health and safety. Dear MCC School Family, This morning we were made aware of a suspicious vehicle and interaction with one of our Upper Elementary Students while walking home from school yesterday, March 4th. We are working with local law enforcement to investigate this matter and are asking that you help us keep a watchful eye out for our community's children. It truly takes a village to raise our children and it is all of our responsibility to help keep them safe. If you should see any suspicious activity, do not hesitate to report it to law enforcement and/or the school. We will work together to check into it. Thank you for your help. Good Afternoon Spartan Volleyball family. Just a reminder with our first home Volleyball game this afternoon. 1. Please remember that masks are mandatory. 2. Between the 7th and 8th grade game we will ask the 7th grade parents to leave the gym and allow the 8th grade parents to enter the gym. This is due to the small size of Upper Elementary Gym and in accordance with the current Executive Order. See you all tonight! Go Spartans!

Dear MCC School Family: Snow Day # 1 of 2020-21 School Year. Due to deteriorating road conditions and an even worse forecast for Friday morning, we have decided to cancel school for Friday, February 5th. Stay Healthy, Warm and Safe Spartans!!

Dear Spartan Family. With Great Regret : The eight West Michigan Conference schools unanimously voted to conclude the early Middle School winter sports of Boy's Basketball and Competitive cheer that were originally scheduled to end in late December and early January. Despite the best efforts of coaches and administration over the last four to six weeks, the timeline (based on MDHHS orders), to effectively complete these seasons has elapsed. The early season was rescheduled four different times and the late winter sports of volleyball and wrestling were pushed back 2 weeks in an attempt to finish the early sports, but in the end it was no longer feasible to complete the seasons.

We are supporting the high school in their homecoming week with a charity week for our community. In addition to a coin war supporting a local charity chosen by each grade level, we will have dress up days to add a little more fun. Monday- Pajama Day Tuesday- Twin Day Wednesday- Hat Day Thursday- Sports Day Friday- Blue and Gold Day We all need a little pick-me-up this time of year, and what better way to do it than dressing up and raising money for those in need! Students will bring in coins M-TH and dollars on Friday to bomb other classes.

Attention Parents: Students were given their second trimester progress reports to take home at the end of the school day today. Spartan Connect progress reports will be mailed. Next week is parent teacher conference week. There will be no face to face conferences due to COVID 19. All week you can call or email teachers and they will respond by the end of the day on Friday. Teachers will be in their classrooms to talk live on Thursday, February 4 th , from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Have a Great Weekend Spartans

Attention Volleyball Players and Parents Currently, the start date is February 8th All Participants must have a Physical or waiver to tryout 7th Graders interested will have early practice from 3:20 to 5:00. 8th Graders interested, will have late practice from 5:00 to 6:30. Tryouts could last 2-4 days, depending on the number of participants. Please have your ride ready to pick you up at the conclusion of practice. Just a reminder that Ms. Kelly's ELA class has NWEA testing this week Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Please get a good night's rest, eat a quality snack/breakfast in the morning, and bring your headphones/earbuds. Thank you and good luck!

NWEA testing for Spartan Connect 8th grade students will be delayed. It will begin the week of Jan. 18th. Testing days will be Tuesday-Thursday starting at 1:30pm. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Attention Spartan Connect Students: Welcome back from break. I'm hoping this message finds you rested and ready to tackle the remaining 9 weeks of Second Semester. We will be doing mandatory NWEA testing on Jan. 12th, 13th, 14th starting at 1:30 PM until 3:12 PM. This is for grades 6th, 7th and 8th. Remember to Log into your Google Meet and follow instructions from there.
